LECTURE EACD 2022 – Prof. Mijna Hadders-Algra

At the 34th Congress of the European Academy of Childhood Disability (EACD) in Barcelona on May 19, 2022, Professor Mijna Hadders-Algra will give  a lecture entitled “EARLY INTERVENTION IN AT RISK INFANTS: EVIDENCE, OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES”.
On this occasion, Dr Alain Chatelin, Chairman of La Fondation Paralysie Cérébrale and Professor Bernard Dan, Chairman of the Foundation’s Scientific Council, will give the Foundation’s prize to Professor Mijna Hadders-Algra.

Mijna Hadders-Algra MD, PhD is emeritus professor of Developmental Neurology in Groningen, the Netherlands. Her research deals in particular with pathophysiology, early detection of neurodevelopmental disabilities and early intervention. Her research on pathophysiology focuses on general movements and postural control. She has also focused her research on the effect of perinatal risk factors on brain development as well as the early detection of neurodevelopmental disorders such as cerebral palsy and in particular the assessment of general movements (GMA). She collaborated on the development of an early intervention program COPCA (COPing with and CAring for infants with special needs) focused on family and physiotherapists.
Recognized worldwide, she (co)authored >300 publications in peer reviewed journals, and she authored/edited eight books, including a book on Early Detection and Early Intervention in Developmental Motor Disorders.
